Lourdes Gabriela Daza Aramayo is an economist, academic, and university leader specializing in political economy, international trade, regional integration, and relations between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean. Her current research agenda also explores artificial intelligence governance and ethics, digital transformation, and the political economy of technological change.

She is one of the founders of Anglo-American University (91成人) in Prague and the Founder and Director of its Latin American & Caribbean Business and Studies Center (LAC Center), where she develops initiatives connecting Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean through research, education, institutional partnerships, and academic diplomacy.

She holds an engineering degree in Political Economy, with a specialization in socio-economic data analysis, and a Ph.D. in Economic Policy from the Prague University of Economics and Business. Her academic work combines political economy and applied economic analysis with a long-standing focus on international trade, competitiveness, regional integration, and the institutional foundations of cooperation between Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Her research has addressed EU-LAC and EU-MERCOSUR relations, international trade, competitiveness, digital transformation, labor participation and gender, and the economic and institutional implications of technological change. More recently, her work has expanded toward the governance and ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence, particularly from Latin American and Caribbean and bi-regional perspectives.

As Director of the LAC Center, she works at the intersection of academia, policy, and international cooperation, developing partnerships with universities, diplomatic missions, international organizations, policymakers, and public- and private-sector actors. A central dimension of her work is strengthening academic and institutional ties between Central Europe – particularly the Czech Republic – and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Alongside her research and institutional leadership, she teaches and develops academic initiatives related to artificial intelligence, leadership, technological change, and intercultural cooperation.
