Seth Rogoff聽is a novelist and scholar of media studies, literature, and cultural analysis. He is the author of the novels聽First, the Raven: a Preface聽(Sagging Meniscus Press 2017),听Thin Rising Vapors聽(SMP 2018), and the forthcoming聽The Kirschbaum Lectures聽(2023). In 2021, Seth published the book聽The Politics of the Dreamscape聽(Palgrave), which focuses on the cultural history, literary theory, and politics of dreams and dream interpretation. Currently, Seth is finishing a collaboration with a former NBA basketball player on the intersection of sports, race, and media. The book is forthcoming from St. Martin鈥檚 Press in 2023. Seth鈥檚 shorter work has appeared in many journals, including聽BODY,听Cagibi,听Epiphany,听Eclectica, and聽Rain Taxi. He has translated works by Franz Kafka, including the novel聽The Castle聽(Vitalis 2007). He has received grants from Duke University, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Maine Arts Commission, the Maine Humanities Council, and the University of Amsterdam. He was a Fulbright Scholar in Creative Writing in Berlin, Germany in 2006-2007. In addition to his creative and scholarly work, he is a passionate environmentalist and works as a freelance analyst and writer for nonprofit environmental organizations. Seth earned his Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam鈥檚 Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA). He received a MA in European Intellectual History from Duke University and a BA in the interdisciplinary program Literature and History from Washington University in St. Louis.聽
