| 顿别蝉肠谤颈辫肠颈贸苍 | This course provides an overview of European history from approximately 1500 to 2000. It discusses a broad and rich array of themes in a narrative fashion, including the Renaissance and Reformation; the French Revolution; the Industrial Revolution; the emergence of national identities and states; the First World War; the inter-war period; World War II; the Cold War in Europe and post-Cold War Europe. Instruction is via reading, class presentations and both teacher- and student-led discussions of primary sources, documentaries and podcasts. The key concerns of these different activities are to facilitate the in-depth exploration of important problems in modern European history and to encourage the intellectual development of each student. |
| Resultados del aprendizaje | Al finalizar este curso, los estudiantes ser谩n capaces de: 鈥� Identificar los 鈥榟echos鈥� hist贸ricos fundamentales que han definido Europa desde el Renacimiento hasta el siglo veintiuno; 鈥� Describe las fuerzas pol铆ticas, econ贸micas, sociales y pol铆ticas decisivas que han dado forma a la Europa moderna; 鈥� Reflexionar sobre el conocimiento adquirido en t茅rminos de interpretaciones/explanaciones alternativas y las propias experiencias/entendimiento de los estudiantes sobre el mundo; 鈥� Analizar y contextualizar los desarrollos hist贸ricos en la historia europea, identificando patrones y continuidades adem谩s de cambios; 鈥� Ofrecer evaluaciones de la historia europea basadas en el pensamiento cr铆tico y una comprensi贸n de la metodolog铆a hist贸rica y el uso de fuentes primarias y secundarias. |
